Dr. Nikolova was raised in Des Plaines and graduated from Elk Grove High School. She has degrees in Chemistry and Spanish from Elmhurst University. There, she graduated cum laude and was an honors global scholar having completed international studies in Spain and Costa Rica. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO), graduating with clinical honors in 2020. Dr. Nikolova has completed clinical rotations at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC and the San Diego Center for Vision Care in San Diego, CA. She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA).
She has received extensive training in providing comprehensive eye examinations and treatment of chronic and acute ocular disease for patients of all ages. Her special interests include pediatric vision care with an emphasis in the management of progressive myopia with specialty glasses and contacts. She is passionate about offering state of the art and innovative treatment for chronic dry eye using both the latest medications and technology including IPL and radiofrequency. Dr. Nikolova has a thorough approach to eye care and believes digital eye strain disorders including headaches, contact lens related discomfort and muscle fatigue can be improved with the proper tools.
Dr. Nikolova also provides eye examinations in Spanish and Bulgarian.
In her free time, she enjoys learning new things, spending time outdoors with her family, and planning her next trip.
Dr. Nikolova maintains office hours in Naperville and Downers Grove.
