Diabetes, if uncontrolled, can cause irreversible blindness. This condition affects small blood vessels, which are found in the fingers, toes, and eyes.

If your eye doctor notices signs of diabetes affecting your eyes, we will refer you to the appropriate retinal specialist for treatment.  To lower your risk of diabetic retinal diseases, schedule your comprehensive dilated eye exam every year, and try to control your blood sugar.
