John W. Sims, O.D.
Dr.
Sims grew up in Clarion, Iowa. He attended Cornell College and graduated
in 1964 from the Illinois College of Optometry. He is in general practice of
optometry specializing in the fitting of contacts. Dr. Sims has been
employed by several contact lens manufacturers to investigate new
contact lens materials, designs, and care products prior to FDA
approval. He served on the faculty of Illinois College of Optometry for
two years.
Dr. Sims is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the Illinois and American Optometric Associations. He is a member of the Naperville Rotary Club.
Dr. Sims and his wife Kay live in Naperville. They have three daughters. John enjoys running, biking, basketball, cross-country skiing, hunting, and fishing.
Laura A. Giancola, O.D.
Dr. Giancola grew
up in Downers Grove. She attended Downers Grove North High School,
Illinois Benedictine College, and graduated from the Illinois College of
Optometry in 1990. While in Optometry school, she served for three years
as the Head Resident Assistant in the dorms, Trust to the American
Optometry Student Association, Treasurer in the Gold Key Honor Society
and was inducted into Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and
Universities.
Dr. Giancola participated in a four-month clinical rotation through the Great Lakes Naval Base and a pediatric rotation at the Easter Seals Foundation while attending school. Dr. Giancola is a member of the Illinois and American Optometry Associations and provides all optometric services specializing in infant/pediatric vision care and vision therapy.
Dr. Giancola and her two children live in Naperville. Laura enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Bradley V. Kampschroeder, O.D.
Dr. Kampschroeder
is a native of Naperville. He graduated from Naperville North High
School in 1986. He attended the University of Kansas and while in school
there he held several offices in Delta Upsilon fraternity, volunteered
time for Special Olympics and played basketball for KU as a walk-on.
Graduating from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1994, Dr. Kampschroeder was an associate instructor for geometrical optics, and was inducted into the Beta Sigma kappa optometric honor society while attending school. He completed a clinical rotation through the Indian Health Services Hospital in Shiprock, New Mexico and an ocular disease rotation at the Danville Veteran Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Kampschroeder is a member of the Illinois and American Optometric Associations. He has served for several years on the Advisory Board for TLC Eye Laser Centers. He provides a wide range of services, including family vision care, difficult to fit contact lenses, and LASIK co-management.
Dr. Kampschroeder lives in Naperville with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys running, biking, and basketball.
Michael L. Halkias, O.D.
Dr. Halkias is a
native of Naperville and is a graduate of Naperville Central High
School. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University
of New York College of Optometry, and a Bachelor’s degree in Cell and
Structural Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.
He was awarded the following honors at graduation: “Outstanding
Compassion in Patient Care” and “Student Leadership Within Organized
Optometry.”
Dr. Halkias has received optometric training at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ, where he provided primary eye care to veterans. He also was trained at Aran Eye Associates in Miami, FL, specializing in ocular diseases.
He participated in Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) and completed a weeklong missionary trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico, spending his time providing free eye care to the poor.
Dr. Halkias enjoys working out, traveling and spending time with his family.
